Well, it looks like the sixth reincarnation of The 1900 Storm Band is upon us. I managed to recruit Phillip Ochoa, the original drummer for the Sonics from 1959.  That group evolve into the Storm by 1968, when a Fledgeling guitarist named Bobby Fossier joined the organization as a roadie; he plays rhythm & acoustic guitars as well as keyboards and sings lead.  Bobby went on to play professionally, and both Phillip & I have shared several successful music projects with Bobby throughout these many years.

As evidenced by our preliminary practices, Phil & Bobby certainly havent lost their chops.  The harmony vocals are especially strong, and although the final lineup of band members isn't finalized, we may remain a three-peice group for the time being.

We may be ready for our premiere within the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

My next musical engagement is at the Kemah Boardwalk on the main outdoor stage on Sunday, May 20th, 6-10 PM.  Im to be a guest perfomer with Danny Kristensen's band Pro Combo; I won't be performing long, but that's fin, because I get to listern to a really killer classic rock band with my good friends that have agreed to join me without being stuck up on stage the whole time.  My wonderful colleagues from Clear Lake medical Center have been supportive of my musical efforts beyond my wildest dreams!  Makes an old man feal really good.

We'll likely be performing at Fenders Club in LaMarque, and I also plan to book us in some of the Clear Lake Area venues like the Seabrook Beach Club, The Turtle Club, places like that.  How cool is it to get paid to do what you love the most, and be able to share it with the people that you love being around the most?  Is it any wonder that I've been walking around with a permanent smile frozen on my face?  Life doesn't get any better than this, guys.  To be able to experience all this with people that I've know for almost 45 years is just icing on the cake.

Now, I have to roll up my sleeves & fire up the 1900storm.com.  Webmastering is really hard work, but I like it; I'll be constructing an event calendar first, and will add band member bios, photos, and the like.  My mailing list will be transferred over, but the my personal website will remain intact.  Anybody associated with the band will eventually be welcome to have an emailbox at the1900storm.com if you so desire.  My email address will be neal@the1900storm.com, for example.  It'll take time.  I have every intention of making this a first-class operation.

Thanks for visiting.  nealwitwer.com has had 328 hits, and 27 good folks have signed the guestbook.
